Dosage and Administration

2. Maintenance Dose: The effective daily dose usually ranges between 15 mg and 45 mg, adjusted based on patient response.
3. Timing: It is generally recommended to take the tablet once daily, preferably as a single night-time dose before going to bed, due to its sedative effects.
4. Administration: Swallow the tablet whole with fluid, with or without food. Do not chew or crush the tablet.
5. Discontinuation: Do not stop taking this medicine abruptly. The dose should be reduced gradually over several weeks under medical supervision to avoid withdrawal symptoms.

• Serious side effects, though less common, can include suicidal thoughts and behaviors (especially in individuals under 24 years of age), serotonin syndrome (when used with other serotonergic drugs), severe allergic reactions, low blood pressure, and disturbances in blood cell production (e.g., granulocytopenia).
• Seek immediate medical attention if you experience symptoms such as fever, chills, sore throat, mouth sores, confusion, agitation, rapid heartbeat, severe muscle stiffness, or unusual bleeding or bruising.
