Lidoxin 2ml Injection contains Lidocaine Hydrochloride, a local anesthetic and antiarrhythmic agent, used to numb areas of the body for procedures and to manage certain heart rhythm disorders.

The Lidoxin 2ml Injection contains:

• Lidocaine Hydrochloride 20 mg/mL (total 40 mg per 2ml solution).
• Sodium Chloride (for tonicity).
• Water for Injection.
• May contain Hydrochloric Acid and/or Sodium Hydroxide for pH adjustment.

Dosage and Administration

1. Lidoxin 2ml Injection is administered by a healthcare professional.
2. Dosage varies based on the procedure, site of injection, and the patient's condition. For local anesthesia, the lowest effective dose should be used.
3. For ventricular arrhythmias, the usual adult intravenous bolus dose is 50-100 mg, administered at approximately 25-50 mg per minute. A second dose may be given after five minutes if needed, with a maximum of 200-300 mg within a one-hour period. Continuous intravenous infusion may follow at 1-4 mg per minute.
4. Doses may need to be reduced for children, elderly, debilitated patients, and those with liver or heart conditions.

Storage and Disposal

• Store at 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F); excursions permitted between 15°C to 30°C (59°F to 86°F).
• Protect from light.
• Discard any unused portion after initial use.
• Keep out of reach of children.

Precautions and Safety

• This medicine should be administered by or under the supervision of experienced clinicians.
• Careful monitoring of cardiovascular and respiratory vital signs, along with the patient's state of consciousness, is essential after injection.
• Facilities for resuscitation, including oxygen, cardiopulmonary resuscitative equipment, and drugs, should be immediately available.
• Use with caution in patients with liver or kidney disease, severe congestive heart failure, shock, hypovolemia, heart block, sinus bradycardia, or impaired cardiovascular function.
• Avoid rapid injection of large volumes; administer fractional doses when feasible.
• Do not exceed the maximum recommended dosage.
• Avoid alcohol consumption during treatment, as it may cause a drop in blood pressure.
• May cause drowsiness or slow reflexes; exercise caution when driving or operating machinery.
• Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to amide-type local anesthetics or other components of the injection.

Side Effects and Risks

• Common side effects include pain or redness at the injection site.
• Central nervous system effects may include restlessness, anxiety, lightheadedness, numbness or tingling around the mouth and lips, metallic taste, tinnitus, dizziness, blurred or double vision, tremors, twitching, drowsiness, confusion, slurred speech, headache, nausea, and vomiting.
• Cardiovascular effects can include bradycardia, hypotension, fast or irregular heartbeat, and cardiovascular collapse.
• Allergic reactions such as itching, redness, hives, swelling of the tongue or throat, difficulty breathing, fast heartbeat, or fainting may occur.
• A rare but serious blood problem called methemoglobinemia may occur, characterized by pale, gray, or blue-colored skin, lips, or nails, headache, rapid heart rate, shortness of breath, lightheadedness, fatigue, confusion, or seizures.
• Temporary loss of sensation and movement, particularly in the lower body, may occur after spinal injection.
• Intra-articular infusions should be avoided due to the risk of chondrolysis.
