What's in the Box

1 x Resin Luting Cement

The Ivoclar Vivadent Variolink N Intro Pack Resin Luting Cement epitomizes the pinnacle of contemporary restorative dentistry, offering clinicians a comprehensive solution for adhesive bonding with unparalleled aesthetics and longevity. This introductory pack integrates Ivoclar Vivadent's renowned Variolink N technology, ensuring a seamless and enduring connection between restorations and tooth structures.

Key Features:

  1. Nanohybrid Technology: Variolink N harnesses advanced nanohybrid technology, blending nano-sized filler particles with a hybrid matrix. This results in exceptional esthetics, ensuring restorations seamlessly integrate with natural dentition.

  2. Dual-Cure Capability: The cement's dual-cure capability provides versatility in application, allowing for reliable curing even in areas with limited light exposure. Clinicians can choose between light curing for efficiency and self-curing for adaptability to diverse clinical scenarios.

  3. Low Shrinkage for Marginal Integrity: Variolink N is engineered with low shrinkage properties, promoting optimal marginal integrity. This characteristic minimizes the risk of microleakage, ensuring a durable and long-lasting bond between the restoration and tooth.

Benefits:

  1. Aesthetic Excellence: The nanohybrid technology ensures that Variolink N achieves exceptional aesthetics, enabling restorations to seamlessly blend with surrounding natural teeth for a lifelike appearance.

  2. Versatile Curing Options: The dual-cure capability provides clinicians with the flexibility to choose the most suitable curing method for each clinical scenario, ensuring reliable and efficient application in various restorative procedures.

  3. Marginal Integrity: The low shrinkage properties contribute to superior marginal integrity, reducing the risk of microleakage and enhancing the overall longevity and stability of the restoration.

Working Time: ~3.5 minutes at 37°C
Mix Ratio: Base : Catalyst = 1:1

Removal of Temporary Restoration and Cleaning:
Begin by removing any temporary restoration from the tooth cavity using appropriate dental instruments.
Clean the cavity and the prepared tooth by removing any residue from the temporary luting composite. Use a polishing brush and an oil- and fluoride-free cleaning paste (e.g., Proxyt fluoride-free).
Rinse the cleaned area with water.
Preparation of Restoration Surfaces:
If you are working with composite or fiber-reinforced composite restorations, follow the manufacturer's instructions for blasting the restoration surfaces.
If necessary, clean the restoration in an ultrasonic unit for about 1 minute.
Thoroughly rinse the restoration with a water spray and dry it with oil-free air.
Application of Primer Agent:
Apply a primer agent (e.g., Monobond N or Monobond-S) to the pre-treated surfaces using a brush or micro brush.
Allow the primer agent to react for 60 seconds.
Disperse the excess primer agent using a strong stream of air. Ensure that the surfaces remain uncontaminated.
Pre-treatment of the Cavity (for enamel and dentin):
To protect adjacent teeth and facilitate excess material removal, use a matrix band in the proximal regions.
Apply N-Etch (37% phosphoric acid gel) to the prepared enamel and, if necessary, to the dentin. Follow the recommended etching times.
Remove the etchant gel by rinsing it vigorously with water for at least 5 seconds.
Ensure that the dentin surface remains slightly wet and shimmering (wet bonding). Remove excess moisture with appropriate methods, such as an air gun or dry brush.
Application of Variolink N:
Depending on the type of restoration (inlays, onlays, crowns, veneers), follow the specific instructions provided in the Intro Pack.
Polymerization (Curing):
Polymerize Variolink N segment by segment, starting with the proximal margins.
Use a curing light with the appropriate light intensity as recommended by the manufacturer. Follow the recommended curing times based on the light source.
Finishing and Polishing of the Restoration:
Use finishing and polishing strips in the proximal regions to achieve the desired finish.
Check occlusion and function and make any necessary corrections.
