Dosage and Administration

  1. Hydrastat 1ml Injection is administered by a healthcare professional, either into a vein (intravenously) or a muscle (intramuscularly).
  2. The exact dosage and frequency will be determined by your doctor based on your medical condition and response to treatment.
  3. This injection is typically used when oral medication is not suitable or when there is an urgent need to lower blood pressure.
  4. The solution should be used immediately after opening the vial.

 

Storage and Disposal

  • Store the ampoules in their original package to protect from light.
  • Keep below 25°C, ideally between 20°C and 25°C (68°F and 77°F).
  • Do not freeze.
  • Discard any unused portion after opening.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

Precautions and Safety

  • Inform your doctor if you have a history of heart attack, coronary artery disease, angina pectoris, cerebrovascular disease, kidney disease, or systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).
  • Hydralazine may cause myocardial stimulation, potentially leading to anginal attacks or ECG changes.
  • Prolonged treatment may induce a lupus-like syndrome.
  • Avoid alcohol consumption during treatment as it may enhance side effects like dizziness.
  • Do not drive or operate heavy machinery until you understand how this medication affects your reactions.
  • Blood pressure should be monitored frequently during treatment.

Side Effects and Risks
