Dosage and Administration

Gentacure 30ml Injection is administered by a healthcare professional via intramuscular (IM) injection or slow intravenous (IV) infusion.
For intravenous administration, the injection must be diluted in a suitable sterile solution, such as 0.9% sodium chloride or 5% dextrose, and infused over 30 minutes to 2 hours.

Storage and Disposal

  • Store vials at room temperature, typically below 25°C.
  • Protect from light.
  • Do not refrigerate or freeze.

Precautions and Safety

  • Gentamicin can cause serious side effects, including damage to the kidneys (nephrotoxicity) and inner ear (ototoxicity), which may result in permanent hearing loss or balance problems.
  • Your doctor will monitor your kidney function, hearing, and blood levels of gentamicin during treatment to minimize these risks.
  • Inform your doctor if you have kidney disease, hearing problems, or muscle weakness (e.g., myasthenia gravis).

  • Serious side effects to watch for include ringing in the ears (tinnitus), dizziness, vertigo, hearing loss, changes in urination, swelling of the feet or legs, muscle twitching, or convulsions. Seek immediate medical attention if these occur.
  • Severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) are rare but possible, characterized by hives, difficulty breathing or swallowing, and swelling of the face or throat.
