Eposis 10000Iu PFS Injection contains Recombinant Human Erythropoietin Alfa, a man-made protein that stimulates the bone marrow to produce red blood cells. It is primarily used to treat anemia caused by kidney disease, cancer chemotherapy, or HIV infection.

Dosage and Administration

  1. Eposis 10000Iu PFS Injection is given by injection, either under the skin (subcutaneous) or directly into a vein (intravenous).
  2. A doctor or nurse will determine the appropriate dose and route of administration based on your body weight and the specific cause of your anemia.
  3. Iron supplements may be prescribed both before and during treatment to enhance the medicine's effectiveness.
  4. Do not attempt to self-administer this medicine.

 

Storage and Disposal

  • Store Eposis 10000Iu PFS Injection in a refrigerator between 2°C and 8°C.
  • Do not freeze the injection.
  • Allow the pre-filled syringe to reach room temperature (not above 25°C) before use.
  • Once removed from refrigeration, the pre-filled syringe can be kept at room temperature for a maximum single period of 7 days.
  • Keep this medicine out of the reach of children.

Precautions and Safety

  • Inform your doctor if you have uncontrolled high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, liver disease, thalassemia, sickle cell anemia, myelodysplastic syndrome, leukemia, or gout.
  • This medicine is contraindicated if you have a known hypersensitivity to erythropoietin or its components, uncontrolled hypertension, active thrombotic microangiopathy (TMA), pure red cell aplasia (PRCA) following previous erythropoietin treatment, or uncontrolled seizures.
  • Regular monitoring of your blood pressure, hemoglobin levels, and other relevant blood parameters is necessary during treatment.
  • Disclose all other medicines you are currently taking to your doctor, as drug interactions can occur.
  • Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, as use during these periods is generally not recommended.
  • This medicine is not intended for situations where an immediate increase in red blood cell count is required.

 

Side Effects and Risks

  • Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, fever, headache, fatigue, increased blood pressure, injection site reactions (redness, pain), joint or muscle pain, and flu-like symptoms.
  • Serious side effects, though rare, can include severe allergic reactions (such as anaphylaxis, angioedema, rash, itching, or swelling of the face, lips, or tongue), seizures, stroke, heart attack, severe hypertension, and blood clots (including deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism).
  • Pure red cell aplasia is a very rare but serious adverse effect.
  • If you experience any serious side effects, such as seizures or symptoms indicative of blood clots, seek immediate medical attention.
