Clinical Uses of DJ Stent in Kidney Stone and Ureteric Procedures

A DJ (Double J) stent is commonly used in urology to maintain ureteral patency and ensure smooth urine drainage from the kidney to the bladder. In kidney stone management, it is placed before or after procedures such as URS, PCNL, or ESWL to relieve obstruction, reduce pain, and prevent ureteral blockage due to edema or stone fragments.
