Dentomac DT Tablet 10's contains Ketorolac Tromethamine 10mg, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), used for the short-term management of moderately severe acute pain.

 

Benefits

Dosage and Administration

  1. Oral Administration: Take this dispersible tablet by mouth as directed by your doctor.
  2. Frequency: Typically, one 10mg tablet every 4 to 6 hours as needed.
  3. Maximum Dose: Do not exceed 40mg in a 24-hour period.
  4. Duration of Use: The total combined duration of use, including any prior injectable forms of ketorolac, should not exceed 5 days due to increased risk of serious side effects.
  5. With or Without Food: This medication can be taken with or without food. If stomach upset occurs, take it with food, milk, or an antacid.
  6. Posture: Take with a full glass of water and do not lie down for at least 10-15 minutes after taking to prevent irritation.

 

Storage and Disposal

  • Store at room temperature, ideally between 15°C and 30°C (59°F and 86°F).
  • Protect from moisture and direct light. Keep the container tightly closed.
  • Keep out of the reach of children and pets.
  • Do not refrigerate or freeze.
  • Dispose of any unused or expired medication responsibly, as advised by your pharmacist or local waste disposal guidelines.

Precautions and Safety

  • Do not exceed the prescribed dose or the maximum 5-day treatment duration, as this significantly increases the risk of serious adverse events, including gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, perforation, heart attack, stroke, and kidney injury.
  • Avoid this medicine if you have a known allergy to aspirin, ketorolac, or other NSAIDs.
  • Contraindicated in patients with active peptic ulcer disease, recent gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation, severe heart failure, advanced renal impairment, or before/after coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery.
  • Not recommended for use during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
  • Do not take other NSAIDs or aspirin concurrently with Dentomac DT Tablet to avoid cumulative risks.
  • Consult your doctor if you have a history of heart problems, high blood pressure, kidney or liver disease, bleeding disorders, or asthma.

 

Side Effects and Risks

  • Common side effects may include upset stomach, nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, gas, dizziness, drowsiness, and headache. These usually resolve over time.
  • Serious side effects, though rare, can occur. These include severe gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, or perforation; increased risk of heart attack or stroke; kidney or liver injury; severe allergic reactions (rash, itching, swelling of face/throat, difficulty breathing); and high blood pressure.
  • Seek immediate medical attention if you experience symptoms such as severe stomach pain, bloody or black/tarry stools, vomit resembling coffee grounds, chest pain, shortness of breath, unusual swelling, or severe skin reactions.
