Dentomac 1ml Injection

Dentomac 1ml Injection contains Ketorolac Tromethamine 30mg/ML, a potent nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used for the short-term management of moderately severe acute pain.

Uses and Indications

The Dentomac 1ml Injection contains:

• Ketorolac Tromethamine 30 mg/mL (active ingredient).
• Excipients include alcohol, sodium chloride, and water for injection, with pH adjusted by sodium hydroxide and/or hydrochloric acid.

Dosage and Administration

1. Adults (16 years and older): The initial dose is typically 30 mg, followed by 15 mg every 6 hours as needed, with a maximum of 120 mg per day. A single dose of 60 mg intramuscularly may be given to some patients.
2. Administration: Intravenous (IV) bolus must be administered over no less than 15 seconds. Intramuscular (IM) administration should be given slowly and deeply into the muscle.
3. Duration: This medicine is for short-term use only, not exceeding 5 days for combined IV/IM and oral treatment.
4. Pediatric Patients: Use and dose must be determined by a doctor; generally not recommended for children under 16 years of age.

Storage and Disposal

• Store the medicine in a closed container at room temperature, between 20° to 25°C (68° to 77°F).
• Protect from light and moisture; retain in carton until time of use.
• Do not refrigerate or freeze.
• Keep out of the reach of children.
• After opening, the product must be used immediately. Diluted solutions are stable for 48 hours at 25°C.

Precautions and Safety

• Ketorolac Tromethamine is available only with a doctor's prescription.
• Do not use for mild pain or chronic conditions.
• The risk of serious side effects increases with dose and length of treatment; do not exceed 5 days of use.
• Inform your doctor if you have a history of kidney disease, heart problems, high blood pressure, stomach ulcers, bleeding disorders, or allergies to aspirin or other NSAIDs.
• Avoid alcohol during treatment.
• May cause dizziness or drowsiness; do not drive or operate machinery if affected.
• Contraindicated in patients with advanced renal impairment, severe uncontrolled heart failure, active gastric/duodenal/peptic ulcer, active GI bleeding, inflammatory bowel disease, cerebrovascular bleeding, or coagulation disorders.
• Contraindicated during the third trimester of pregnancy, labor, and delivery due to potential adverse effects on fetal circulation and uterine contractions.
• Not recommended for use in breastfeeding women due to potential for serious adverse reactions in nursing infants.
• Use with caution in elderly patients, as they may be more sensitive to side effects.

Side Effects and Risks

• Common side effects include vomiting, stomach pain/epigastric pain, nausea, indigestion, diarrhea, heartburn, and loss of appetite.
• Other reported side effects include headache, dizziness, drowsiness, constipation, gas, sores in the mouth, sweating, ringing in the ears, pain at injection site, and small red or purple dots on the skin.
• Serious side effects can occur, including severe stomach pain, black tarry stools, vomiting blood, unusual weight gain, swelling of face/fingers/feet/lower legs, and skin rash.
• Increased risk of serious cardiovascular thrombotic events (heart attack, stroke), gastrointestinal bleeding, perforation, and renal failure.
• Serious skin reactions (exfoliative dermatitis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrosis) have been reported rarely.
