Dosage and Administration

Cynorise 30ml Injection is administered by intramuscular (IM) or deep subcutaneous (SC) injection. Intravenous administration should be avoided as most of the vitamin will be rapidly excreted in the urine.

Storage and Disposal

• Store at controlled room temperature, ideally between 20°C and 25°C (68°F and 77°F).

• Some cyanocobalamin products may contain benzyl alcohol, which has been associated with a fatal "Gasping Syndrome" in premature infants.
• This product may contain aluminum, which can reach toxic levels with prolonged parenteral administration if kidney function is impaired.
• Indiscriminate administration of vitamin B12 may mask the true diagnosis of folate deficiency.
• An intradermal test dose is recommended for patients suspected of being sensitive to this drug before full administration.

Side Effects and Risks

• Common side effects can include headache, a feeling of weakness or tiredness, and nausea.
• Pain or redness at the injection site, mild diarrhea, itching, or a feeling of swelling all over the body may occur.
• Serious but uncommon side effects include muscle cramps, weakness, or an irregular heartbeat, which may indicate low potassium levels (hypokalemia).
• Symptoms of heart failure, such as shortness of breath, swelling in the ankles or feet, unusual tiredness, or sudden weight gain, require immediate medical attention.
• Rarely, very serious allergic reactions such as rash, hives, itching, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, difficulty breathing or swallowing, wheezing, or chest tightness have been reported. Anaphylactic shock and death have also been reported in rare instances.
• Patients with polycythemia vera may rarely experience symptoms related to their disorder while on cyanocobalamin.
