The Coltene Speedex Putty Kit Elastomeric Impression Material is a premium condensation silicone (C-Silicone) impression system engineered to deliver physical properties that closely approximate those of addition-cured silicones (polyvinylsiloxanes). This system is indicated for a range of dental procedures, including primary impressions in the putty-wash technique, impressions for crown and bridge work, full and partial dentures, implant-level impressions, and the creation of study models, matrices, or protective insulation for teeth.
Speedex offers elastic recoverability and reproduction, a characteristic otherwise primarily achieved by A-Silicones. Its low shrinkage ensures impressions remain dimensionally stable for up to 7 days, allowing ample time for accurate casting without distortion. The material exhibits outstanding wettability and excellent flow characteristics, effectively displacing saliva and blood to ensure high-quality impressions even in moist oral environments. The system utilizes a single universal activator for its various consistencies, and its setting process remains unaffected by haemostatic or anaesthetic substances, as well as handling with latex gloves.
