Calci Plus Tablet 10's contains Calcitriol 0.25mcg, an active form of Vitamin D used to manage low calcium levels and bone conditions, particularly in individuals with kidney or parathyroid gland issues.

Benefits

Calcitriol helps the body absorb calcium and phosphate from the diet, which is crucial for maintaining strong bones and healthy parathyroid gland function. It supports bone strength, reduces the risk of bone pain and fractures, and helps prevent muscle cramps and spasms by ensuring proper calcium levels.

  • Bone disease in people with kidney failure or parathyroid gland problems.
  • High parathyroid hormone (PTH) levels (hyperparathyroidism) in chronic kidney disease.
  • Postmenopausal osteoporosis.
  • Renal osteodystrophy.
  • Osteomalacia/Rickets.

  • Inform your doctor about all other medicines you are taking, especially thiazide diuretics and magnesium-containing antacids, as they can interact with Calcitriol.
  • Avoid alcohol during the course of treatment.

Side Effects and Risks

  • Common side effects may include mild headache, stomach pain, dry mouth, loss of appetite, mild nausea, or feeling tired.
  • Serious side effects, though less common, can include signs of high calcium levels (severe nausea, vomiting, constipation, increased thirst, increased urination, confusion), mental or mood changes, severe bone/muscle/joint pain, or allergic reactions (rash, swelling, difficulty breathing).
