Brand BPL

BPL FD-03 is a foetal heartrate detector with a 2.5Mhz highly sensitive ultrasound probe which can detect the foetal heartrate accurately even in the early period of gestation. It accurately detects the foetal heartrate being absolutely safe for the foetus as well as the mother. BPL FD-03 is equipped with dual display mode, dual audio output and visual alarm in case of any inconsistence recorded. The Lithium battery of this portable device is rechargeable with a medical grade adapter that comes with this device. The device shuts down automatically post 1 minute of no operation thereby preserving battery life.
3mhz highly sensitive ultrasound probe for clear audible heart sounds
Lie Down: Get comfortable on your back on a couch or bed.
Full Bladder: A full bladder helps bring the uterus up and makes it easier to find the heartbeat.
Apply Gel: Use a generous amount of ultrasound gel (or lotion/aloe) on your lower abdomen for better sound transmission.
Finding the Heartbeat
Start Low: Begin near your pubic bone and work your way slowly upward towards your belly button.
Locate Baby's Back: Feel for the baby's back (a firm bulge) or listen for kicks to know where the baby is; the back is usually opposite where kicks are felt.
Angle the Probe: Aim the probe towards the baby's back (often near the fetal scapula) and rock it gently side-to-side or in small circles.
Listen for the Sound: Listen for a fast, whooshing sound (110-160 BPM), which is different from the slower, steadier sound of your own pulse (maternal heartbeat).
Fetal Dopplers are generally safe when used briefly by professionals for medical reasons, but the FDA and medical bodies warn against recreational, prolonged at-home use due to risks like potential tissue heating, bubble formation (cavitation), leading to unknown long-term effects, and misinterpretation causing false reassurance or anxiety, stressing that only qualified providers should use them for diagnosis, while expectant parents should focus on professional care and kick counting.
