The 3M Universal ESU Pad - Corded Split Type is a patient dispersive return electrode designed for effective performance in surgical diathermy. This electrosurgical pad provides a safe return path for electrosurgical current and is compatible with electrosurgical generators equipped with a Contact Quality Monitoring System (CQMS). Its universal orientation allows for flexible placement near the surgical site without specific positioning concerns.
Constructed with a fluid-resistant non-woven backing, composed of polypropylene non-woven combined with a polyethylene extruded film, the pad features a transthermal backing that facilitates heat dissipation, reducing the risk of unsafe temperature rise. It incorporates a strong, gentle, water-based, soft, and hydrophilic conductive adhesive that ensures excellent skin-to-plate contact. A non-conductive border adhesive surrounds the conductive area to maintain electrical isolation, and the pad is not made with natural rubber latex.
This 3M Universal ESU Pad is supplied as a non-sterile, single-use, and disposable device. It conforms to the ANSI/AAMI/IEC 60601-2-2 Standard (Section 201.15.101.5), ensuring its suitability for surgical procedures as defined by this standard.
