The 3M Littmann Classic III Monitoring Stethoscope (5870) is designed for students and medical professionals to identify, listen to, and study heart, lung, and other body sounds for physical assessment, patient monitoring, and diagnosis. It offers high acoustic sensitivity for exceptional performance during general physical assessments. This stethoscope is suitable for monitoring and assessing a wide range of patients and detecting normal and abnormal sounds and rhythms in non-critical care environments such as medical offices, general wards, OB/GYN, ambulatory clinics, or urgent care settings.
The Littmann Classic III features a two-sided chestpiece with tunable diaphragms on both the adult and pediatric sides. Its tunable diaphragm technology allows clinicians to hear different frequency sounds by simply adjusting the pressure on the chestpiece, enabling the detection of low-frequency sounds with light pressure and higher-frequency sounds with firm pressure. The pediatric side of the chestpiece can be easily transformed into a traditional open bell by replacing the single-piece diaphragm with a non-chill rim. The small tunable diaphragm is useful for pediatric, small, or thin patients, around bandages, and for carotid assessment.
For patient and user safety, the next-generation tubing of the 3M Littmann Classic III Monitoring Stethoscope (5870) is not made with natural rubber latex and does not contain phthalate plasticizers. This product is made in the USA for consistent quality.
