The 3M™ Attest™ Rapid Readout Biological Indicator 1292E is engineered for the rapid and reliable monitoring of steam sterilization processes in healthcare settings. This dual readout biological indicator system is specifically designed for 121-123°C gravity displacement and 132-135°C vacuum-assisted steam sterilization cycles. It provides assurance of sterility by challenging the sterilizer with quantifiable, highly resistant Geobacillus stearothermophilus spores.
Each self-contained biological indicator consists of a Geobacillus stearothermophilus spore strip and a sealed glass ampoule containing growth media and a dual indicator system. These components are housed within a plastic vial, topped with a brown color-coded cap that features holes for sterilant penetration, a bacterial barrier filter, and a chemical indicator on the label that transitions from rose to brown upon processing. The growth media includes carbohydrates, peptone, amino acids, and dye.
For accurate results, the 3M™ Attest™ Rapid Readout Biological Indicator 1292E is intended for use with the 3M™ Attest™ Auto-reader 290 or the 3M™ Attest™ Auto-reader 390, delivering a final fluorescent result in 3 hours. This product is compliant with ISO 11138-1:2017 and ISO 11138-3:2017 standards, ensuring a scientifically validated approach to sterilization monitoring.
