Jenvac PFS 0.5ml Vaccine Injection

Jenvac PFS 0.5ml Vaccine Injection is an inactivated Japanese Encephalitis (JE) vaccine indicated for active immunization against JE infection. It is a Vero cell-derived purified inactivated vaccine, prepared from an Indian strain of the Japanese encephalitis virus. The vaccine contains Inactivated Japanese Encephalitis Virus Protein 6mcg.

This vaccine is approved for use in children and adults aged one year and above. It is recommended for individuals residing in or traveling through areas known to be endemic for Japanese encephalitis, including travelers planning to stay for more than one month in endemic areas, frequent travelers, and shorter-term travelers with an increased risk of JE.

Formulated with Inactivated Japanese Encephalitis Virus Protein 6mcg, derived from an Indian strain of the JE virus using Vero cell technology.
Requires cold-chain storage at +2° to +8°C; the vaccine must not be frozen.
Administered via intramuscular route into the deltoid region for adults and the anterolateral region of the thigh for children.
The primary vaccination consists of a single dose of 0.5ml; for routine immunization, a two-dose regimen administered 28 days apart is recommended, with a booster dose considered if the primary series was given more than one year prior to potential re-exposure.
Received manufacturing and marketing approvals from the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI).
