Crown Selection:
Choose the appropriate size and side (left or right) of the strip crown from the kit based on the patient's tooth anatomy.
Tooth Preparation:
Gently clean and prepare the tooth to receive the crown. Remove any decay, old restorations, or sharp edges. Ensure the tooth surface is clean and dry.
Etching and Bonding (if using composites):
If using light-cured composites, follow the manufacturer's instructions for etching and bonding. Apply bonding agent and light-cure as needed.
Crown Placement:
Fill the selected strip crown with the chosen restorative material, either chemical or light-cured composite.
Carefully place the crown onto the prepared tooth, ensuring proper fit and alignment with adjacent teeth.
Apply gentle pressure to seat the crown in place.
Contouring and Shaping:
Allow the restorative material to adapt to the tooth and cure according to the material's instructions.
After curing, the strip crown will automatically contour to match the natural dentition. Ensure the contour is esthetically pleasing.
Trimming and Finishing:
If necessary, trim any excess restorative material from the crown to achieve the desired shape and alignment with adjacent teeth.
Smooth and polish the crown to ensure a comfortable fit and a natural appearance.
Final Assessment:
Verify that the crown has a smooth surface, proper alignment, and tight interproximal contacts with adjacent teeth.
Curing (if needed):
If using light-cured composites, make sure the restoration is fully cured using a curing light.
Patient Comfort and Occlusion Check:
Ensure the patient's comfort and assess the occlusion to confirm that the restored tooth functions correctly.
Clean-Up and Post-Operative Care:
Clean the treatment area, remove any excess materials, and provide post-operative care instructions to the patient.
Documentation:
Document the procedure, including crown size, tooth location, materials used, and any relevant notes in the patient's records.
Follow-Up:
Schedule a follow-up appointment to assess the restoration's integrity and the patient's satisfaction.
