Also known as Critical Care Units (CCUs), Intensive Therapy Units (ITUs), the Intensive Care Units (ICUs) have a special bed to meet the requirements of critical patients admitted to the unit. The lives of these patients is at high risk and their treatment a high priority, so each equipment in an ICU unit is special, including the ICU bed. ICU beds are electric, meaning they can be operated automatically instead of manually through a remote control panel or handset. They should be capable of achieving Trendelenburg position, which is defined as follows: a position, used for pelvic surgery and to treat shock, in which a patient lies face upwards on a tilted table or bed with the pelvis higher than the head. The Trendelenburg positions facilitate body respiration and circulation. The dimensions of ICU beds are such that they can accommodate pressure-relieving mattresses, or vice versa. Along with this, CPR Releases, IV poles with hooks, removable head and footboards, nurse controls, etc. are part of an ICU bed. As one can see, ICU beds are one of, if not the most special beds in a hospital. Browse the ICU bed range on Medikabazaar here on this page.
